Why Kithcraft

Conversations with a little more structure

We work with community conversation methods — not therapy, not coaching. Just a quiet, well-facilitated space to talk things through.

Facilitator-led sessions

Every workshop runs with an experienced facilitator who guides the conversation without directing its content. You decide what to share.

No pressure, no agenda

Participants engage with prompts at their own pace. Private writing stays private. Nothing is extracted or recorded without consent.

Based in Kuching, Sarawak

A local studio with a genuine understanding of the household rhythms that shape families in Sarawak and across East Malaysia.

Materials that travel home

Every session includes printed materials — prompt cards, journals, or mailed notes — so the conversation can continue on your own terms.

Welcoming to any household

Our workshops are open to couples, co-parents, extended family members, and any adult household configuration. No prior experience needed.

Held at a manageable pace

Single sessions, short series, or a full-year membership — choose the commitment that suits where your household is right now.

Common Questions

Things people often ask

What exactly happens in a facilitated conversation workshop?
A facilitator opens the session with a brief context-setting, then introduces prompts drawn from community conversation practice. Participants can write privately, speak aloud, or remain quiet — there is no requirement to perform. The facilitator manages the time and the atmosphere; the content of any conversation belongs to the participants.
Is this counselling or therapy?
No. Kithcraft's sessions are educational and conversational in nature. Facilitators do not offer therapeutic intervention, clinical assessment, or advice on regulated disciplines such as infant care, medical conditions, or legal matters. If you or someone in your household needs professional support, we are happy to share general guidance on finding it.
My partner is hesitant. Can one of us attend alone?
Yes. The New-Parent Conversation Workshop and the Family of Origin Series are both suitable for individuals attending without a partner. The Yearlong Membership covers one household, so any member of that household may attend public workshops independently.
How do I know which workshop suits us?
A short initial enquiry is the easiest way to find out. Write to us through the contact form below or call us on +60 82-415 873 and we'll talk through what you're looking for. There is no commitment involved in enquiring.
How is my personal information handled?
Information shared during enquiry is used only to respond to you and, if you proceed, to manage your booking. We do not share participant information with third parties or retain it beyond its purpose. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
What is the cancellation or rescheduling process?
We ask for at least 48 hours' notice to reschedule a single session. For the Series and Membership, individual sessions within the package may be rescheduled once within the same term. Full terms are provided at booking. Contact us directly if your situation changes.
